Frequently Asked Questions

Safety & Security

Yes.  My partner schools operate in well-established educational environments with comprehensive safety protocols. All partner schools are located in safe urban areas, and students are supervised by vetted bilingual staff at all times.

Every partner school undergoes a rigorous multi-step evaluation including facility inspections, staff background checks, curriculum review, safety protocol assessment, and reference checks from previous international programs. Schools must meet these standards before any students are placed.

Program Details

Not for most programs.  Summer Camps and Short-Term Cultural Experiences welcome complete beginners.  Immersion Programs accept students at all levels and place them accordingly.   If you have previous Chinese studies, you will take a placement test to determine the most suitable class.  The schools will arrange a placement test.

A typical day includes morning language classes (3-4 hours), a supervised lunch, afternoon cultural activities or workshops, and structured evening activities.  Each school has its own schedule depending on the program.

Schools welcome parent visits with advance notice.  Schools can also help arrange accommodations and suggest family-friendly activities.  The schools communicate with parents informing them of their child’s journey in China.

Costs & Payments

Each school tailors its programs to students’ requirements.  However, each school’s tuition covers language instruction, cultural activities, accommodations, meals, local transportation, and staff support. International airfare, visa fees, and personal spending money are not included.

Eligibility & Requirements

Students need a valid passport (with 6+ months validity), completed application form, medical clearance form, emergency contact information, and signed parental consent forms. The schools will provide guidance on obtaining a student visa for China.

There are no academic prerequisites for most programs. Students should be in good academic standing and have a genuine interest in learning Chinese language and culture. Some advanced programs may require placement testing depending on the level.

Travel & Logistics

Each school provides a detailed packing list after enrollment. Generally, students should bring comfortable clothing suitable for the season, a laptop or tablet for language practice, any required medications, and personal items.
